Each year in #Cuba, the National Revolutionary Festival celebrateS the day, July 26, 1953, when a band of rebels led by #FidelCastro attacked military barracks in Santiago de Cuba attempting to overthrow the government of Fulgencio Batista. #26julio
.

I was fortunate enough to do a bit of research before I visited Cuba for a writing trip (beautiful country); before during and after I was struck by just how much courage, committment and BELIEF it took for a proud and humble people to engage in such a revolutionary undertaking. #july26

JUST TO BE CLEAR | *** NONE OF THIS IS POLITICAL *** (NOT the purpose) I simple respected the voice and resolve of the people and it forced me to also questioned what I am WILLING to do for what I believe versus SETTLING. #revolution
